How to unfollow everyone on X safely
Followed hundreds of accounts over the years and your timeline is noise? A bulk unfollow gives you a clean start — as long as you do it at the right pace.
The manual way
- Open your profile → Following.
- Click the “Following” button next to an account → Unfollow.
Unfollowing everyone at once
- On a computer, open x.com → your profile → the Following page (you must be on it).

X is especially sensitive to fast unfollowing because that's a classic spam pattern, and it can temporarily limit accounts that do it in bursts. So:
- The fastest setting still waits two seconds between accounts, with a small random variation so the rhythm doesn't look robotic.
- If X starts refusing actions, the extension stops on its own and asks you to wait 15–30 minutes. Refused actions aren't counted.
- For very long lists, split the job across sessions.
