How to delete all your tweets at once

X has no “delete all” button. If you have hundreds or thousands of tweets, here's how to clear them without clicking Delete a thousand times.

Does X have a bulk delete button?

No. Inside the app and on x.com you delete one tweet at a time. The only built-in way to make every tweet disappear at once is deleting the whole account — which also costs you your username and followers (see how account deletion works).

So if you want a clean profile but want to keep your handle and followers, you have two options: delete manually, or use a tool that does the clicking for you.

Before you start: two things

1. Download your archive. Deletion is permanent — there is no undo and no recycle bin. Your archive is a full copy of your tweets you keep for yourself: how to download your X archive.
2. Decide what you actually want gone. Everything? Only old tweets? Only replies? Most people discover they want the years before a certain date, not all of it.

The manual way (fine for a few dozen tweets)

1. Open your profile on X.
2. Click the three dots (⋯) at the top right of the tweet.
3. Choose Delete, then confirm.
4. Repeat.

Free and reliable, but it takes about five seconds per tweet. A thousand tweets is roughly an hour and a half of non-stop clicking — which is exactly why people search for a bulk method.

How long does it take? Can my account get limited?

It depends on the speed you choose. Slow is safest for large accounts, because X throttles accounts that fire a lot of actions quickly. If the extension notices X rejecting actions, it stops by itself and asks you to wait — and actions that failed are never counted against your package.

Deleting only part of your history

• By date: delete everything before a given year — delete old tweets by date.
• Replies only: delete your replies.
• Retweets: those aren't deleted, they're undone — undo all reposts.

On a phone?

Chrome extensions don't run on mobile browsers, so you need a computer (Windows or Mac). On a phone, manual deletion inside the app is the only option.
